Here at Lockheed Martin's RMS business in Akron, OH, we are working on many exciting programs and developing advanced products to meet the complex needs of our customers. We are looking for a motivated, hard-working, and detailed-oriented Software/Computer Engineering intern to work various tasks with direction from a senior lead engineer.

The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting engineers in the support and development of program products and systems in the areas of lighter-than-air, laser, and/or sensor systems. The candidate will design, develop, document, test, and debug software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to mission problems. The candidate will correct software errors/problems, prepare operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisitions, programming techniques, and controls.

Basic Qualifications Basic qualifications for this role will include working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software or Computer Engineering from an accredited college. Course work should include basic Computer Engineering fundamentals. Candidate should exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, have strong interpersonal skills, and possess the ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic, and team-based environment.

A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.

Candidates must have the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance to at least the Secret level.

Desired skills Candidate should have an understanding and ability to apply basic Software and/or Computer Engineering principles, theories and concepts. Solid math and science background. Knowledge of software integration, familiar with information assurance, knowledge of networks and switches, and comfortable working with suppliers.
