Lockheed Martin Mechanical Engineer / Archbald , PA in Archbald, Pennsylvania
Mechanical Design Engineer to design, analyze, and document Military and commercial hardware for various programs. The primary focus will be on the design and analysis of packaging of electrical equipment and control, but may also include aerospace hardware. Responsibilities will include working on a team of engineering personnel (System Engineer/Tech lead, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Test Engineering, and Design & Drafting) to conceptualize, detail design, analyze, and document specialized hardware designs. The job may also require the design and documentation of custom test equipment. Candidate must possess excellent communication and social skills to work on an integrated product team, write design reports, and interact with other engineers, technicians, subcontractors, customers, and vendors. Conduct design trade studies using simulation tools in order to evaluate system performance and provide recommendations to the design team is also a plus. The position requires the candidate to have working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and Power Point. The candidate must have a BS/MS in either Mechanical or Aerospace engineering and is preferred to have CREO modeling and analysis experience or training and must be able to work with general direction. The successful candidate may be required to work more than 40 hours a week on occasion and on short notice. The candidate must be able and willing to obtain a security clearance. Occasional travel may be required.
Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree. CAD Solid Modeling and Thermal and Structural Analysis. Microsoft Office,PC familiarity. Capable of working in a team environment. Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance.
Desired skills Mechanical Design experience, CREO Solid Modeling, CREO Simulate Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, AutoCad, Modeling and Simulation Experience or Training
