Lockheed Martin Aircraft Mechanic 2 in Beaufort, South Carolina

This position is part of the ICS Maintenance Team for the F-35, VMFAT-501 at MCAS Beaufort South Carolina and will be responsible for issuing tools, hazmat kits along with receiving and controlling assets.

Working level knowledge of common tool room and supply warehouse procedures. Thorough understanding of the Marine Corps Hazardous Material Management required. Must be knowledgeable of Tool Control, FOD, Supply and HAZMAT programs. Understanding level of Material Safety Data Sheets. Possess an ability to work in a diverse/integrated multi shift work environment. Working level of understanding in the use of barcode readers. Must possess the ability to assemble and arrange tool kits. Possess the ability to perform periodic inspections and minor maintenance of support equipment and tools. Must possess a valid drivers’ license. Must have or be able to obtain an interim Secret Security Clearance within a reasonable time.

Must be able to work a Flexible Shift Schedule.

Additional duties and related responsibilities will be assigned as required.

Physical Requirements: Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist.

Basic Qualifications -3 years previous experience working in warehouse, tool crib, use of barcode readers and or hazmat pharmacy and working with warehouse/tool room procedures,. . -Must possess a valid drivers’ license.

Desired skills -F-35 aircraft or Fifth Generation aircraft maintenance experience. Previous experience working warehouse, tool crib and or hazmat pharmacy within an Aviation environment. -Considered candidates must be capable of working first (1st), second (2nd), or third (3rd) shift(s) dependent on customer needs. -Possess an ability to work in a diverse/integrated multi shift work environment -Understanding level of Material Safety Data Sheets. -Must be possess the ability to assemble and arrange tool kits. -Thorough understanding of the Marine Corps Hazardous Material Management required. -Experience working on Tool Control, FOD, Supply and HAZMAT programs -Possess the ability to perform periodic inspections and minor maintenance of support equipment and tools.
