Lockheed Martin Executive Communications Specialist in Bethesda, Maryland
Reporting to the Director of Executive Communications and the Manager of Integrated Communications, this individual will support communications for the Executive Office, including Chairman, President and CEO. This role requires strong project management to supervise the day-to-day coordination among the members of the Executive Communications team and the Chairman, President and CEO’s office and the Employee Communications team. This individual must be self-motivated and have excellent relationship-management skills. The individual will be working closely with numerous business functions and outside organizations to research messaging, develop content, create preparation materials, and organize logistics to ensure successful events. The individual must have strong writing skills to develop content for internal and external engagements including speech writing, memos, letters, and other written communications.
As a member of a small, high-performing team, this individual must be a well-organized individual who thrives on the swift pace and intense atmosphere of the Executive Office.
This is an accelerated career opportunity designed to be an 18-to-24-month role. An extended temporary duty package may be considered.
Primary Responsibilities • Manage the calendar, prioritize the schedule, and plan multiple, simultaneous projects for the Executive Communications team; • Prepare and coordinate executive preparation materials (i.e., run-of-show documents) with other functions and business teams; • Assist in development of executive speeches, talking points, letters, webcasts, and video recordings; • Draft, refine, edit and repurpose content that supports the business objectives of the leadership team; and • Produce videos and electronic communications with support from internal and external multimedia groups.
Basic Qualifications • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and good sense of humor. • A minimum of a Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10 years of professional experience; or 8 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. • Demonstrated skill in writing, editing and oral communications skills with the ability to convey complex information in clear, compelling ways; and • Ability to write quickly under pressure with a willingness to improve drafts in a supportive environment.
