SSC seeks an experienced Network Engineer for its Boulder, CO location on the Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) program.

The candidate will work alongside the customer providing network engineering support. The Network Engineering Support comprises the full scope of work from solution analysis, technology development, engineering and manufacturing development, production and deployment, operations and support across the complete end-to-end system and across the complete life cycle, in support of projects and programs across the SBIRS baselines.

Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network

The operational system to support utilizes core vendor technologies from: Cisco, Juniper and VMWare.

Basic Qualifications • Bachelors degree with a minimum of 1-2 years experience • Must be a United States citizen • Must have an active Secret clearance • Hands on Cisco and/or Juniper (or similar vendor experience) routers/switches/firewall configuration experience • Experience with TCP/IP, WAN/LAN, QoS, VTP/VLANs, NW Security (IPSec Tunnels), routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc.) • Experience with troubleshooting network anomalies and failures • Virtualization experience • Experience in Network Design • Network diagram and documentation experience • Unix System administration experience • System installation and integration experience • Ability to work in a team environment • Team player with strong interpersonal, communications and writing skills

Desired skills • Current Cisco Certified Network/Design Associate (CCNA/CCDA) is a plus • Current Juniper Network Certified Associate (JNCIA) is a plus • Basic knowledge setting up Storage Area Networks • Basic working knowledge of UNIX/LINUX Operating Systems • Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity • Basic knowledge of Server virtualization (Windows/Solaris/Linux)
