We are looking for an outstanding candidate to fill a technical position to aid in the development of Lockheed Martin Advanced Energy Storage’s novel energy storage technology. The candidate with work closely with senior research scientists in carrying out laboratory experiments involving organic and inorganic chemical synthesis, materials characterization, and executing small scale electrochemical cell tests. The candidate will have the opportunity to work as part of a team designing, synthesizing, and evaluating new formulations of our advanced battery electrolytes.
Basic Qualifications B.S. in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or a closely related field with coursework in inorganic and physical chemistry is required. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong laboratory and organizational skills. Successful candidates will have a strong attention to detail and outstanding written and oral communication skills. Individuals must be flexible, able to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, and able to work independently and as part of a group.
Desired skills Experience (>6 months) with industrial or independent academic laboratory research is strongly preferred, especially in the areas of synthetic chemistry and/or electrochemistry.
