The Payload Launch Sites Support Services (PLSSS) Program provides all launch processing support functions for Office of Space Launch (OSL). The program’s two primary operating locations are Vandenberg AFB, CA and Cape Canaveral AFS, FL. Key elements of the PLSSS program scope include satellite launch processing, satellite transport operations, satellite propellant loading operations, and satellite processing facilities O&M, clean room operations, and safety and environmental services.

This engineer will work with an Engineering team responsible for the operational status, troubleshooting, modification, and sustainment of Electrical and Electronic systems and capabilities. Tasks will include planning, requirements integration, system modification, test procedure development, and generation of work authorizing documents. The Engineer will prepare and coordinate work activities for all planned outages, and troubleshoot and restore systems during unplanned outages on various systems and components including: UPS, generators, switchgear, HVAC, Fire, Security, Integrated Audio/Visual, and Video Wall systems. The Engineer will also be required to conduct asset condition assessments, make recommendations for system improvements, and system expansions. The Engineer will evaluate maintenance procedures for currency and process improvements. The Engineer will also be required to provide technical expertise and guidance to electricians and technicians. Occasional weekend and night work required

The applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Basic Qualifications Bachelors of Science degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree.

Desired skills Practical Electrical Engineering construction and/or maintenance experience within an industrial or commercial Facilities environment. Professional demeanor and personality suited for a team-centric environment Strong work ethic oriented to achievement of positive results, strong organizational skills, and exceptional customer service, thoroughness and self-motivation Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with the ability to prioritize, problem solve, respond and present to senior level executives within the customer organizations Ability to read field sketches, construction drawings, and OEM material. Understanding of fire alarm life safety systems (Siemens) installation, operation, and testing. Understanding of integrated Audio/Video Display Systems and Video Walls. Competency in all aspects of Ethernet cabling and signaling standards. NICET Level II, III or IV in fire alarm Experience with MAXIMO Active NCEES record a plus.
