Lockheed Martin Support Equipment Engineering Services Manager in Cape Canaveral, Florida
Provide management, direction, and leadership to the Support Equipment (SE) Engineering Services group within the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) SE Mechanical Engineering organization. The group is responsible for a variety of engineering services functions to the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering support equipment design organizations. Manage the development and maintenance of Packaging Data Sheets (PDS), engineering stress analysis, engineering process improvement and process maintenance, and to prepare, perform checking function, and release CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and test procedures in Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) work flow process tool. The Manager will interface with leadership and program management personnel to provide project planning for IMP/IMS development activities, monitor cost, technical, and schedule performance, provide work assignments and technical direction to subordinates, and review of data products to ensure thoroughness, accuracy and completeness meeting all project objectives and commitments. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Coordinates with program personnel to understand and identify functional resource requirements (staffing, tools, etc.), and champions continuous process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have Full Spectrum Leadership skills, communications skills (both oral and written) and excellent customer relations, able to mentor and develop subordinates, and have a strong background in manufacturing and Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations (ATLO) environments.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field - Must have a demonstrated ability to plan, propose, and manage organizational budgets and schedules - Experience supporting the development of and checking supporting data and the release of models, drawings, and documentation in an electronic PDM system - Demonstrated personnel leadership and project leadership skills, and the ability to cultivate a highly motivated workforce, with the ability to lead and drive change - Demonstrated commitment to development and deployment of productivity/performance improvements and leveraging new technologies - Candidate must have strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills, and have the ability to interact effectively and build effective relationships with customers and senior program management - Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
Desired skills - FBM experience and familiarity with FBM Command Media - Program management/CAM experience - Capture Management/Proposal experience - Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain, and leverage effective Central Engineering relationships - Working knowledge of industry standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS standards applicable to mechanical and structural systems. Experience should include a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning &Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5. - Familiarity with engineering tools CREO Parametric and EPDM - Familiarity with model based engineering principles and practices - Familiarity with engineering CAD tools (Creo, I-DEAS, etc.) and model based product definition (Data Set Rating 4 or 6)
