Lockheed Martin Firefighter-E.m.t. in Coatesville, Pennsylvania

Engage in Aircraft Rescue Firefighting and emergency medical services. Additional duties include performance of daily operation and maintenance of the station, apparatus, equipment, and fixed fire protection and alarm systems for the Sikorsky Coatesville facility.

Basic Qualifications 1. Perform daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly fire prevention/inspections and conduct fire service system shutdowns as required by Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), National Fire Protection Association. 2. Perform safety inspections, training, and activities when requested. 3. Utilize computer skills to locate MSDS's in the database, acknowledge alarms, notify the chief; answer business and emergency telephones, recording the required information; activate the evacuation system as directed by the Chief. 4. Operate fire apparatus. 5. Perform aircraft rescue firefighting. 6. Perform emergency medical services at the EMT-B level. 7. Perform operations at the hazardous materials technician level. 8. Perform technical rescue operations including but not limited to: a. Confined space b. Fall protection c. Vehicles and Machinery d. Elevator Rescue 9. Provide waste profile information to local emergency agencies about Sikorsky shipments of DOT hazardous waste that leave our facilities. 10. Perform safe work practices during routine day-to-day station activities; apparatus and equipment maintenance checks, inspections and inventories, training, and while responding to and operating at an emergency. 11. Maintaining written Emergency Response Plan as well as fire, life safety/prevention programs. 12. Support flight operations, initial starts, and fueling operations. 13. Perform Emergency Medical Response. 14. Perform Emergency Spill Response. 15. Perform environmental inspections, inventories, hazardous waste collection, manifesting, and shipment as needed.

Desired skills Education: 1. High School Diploma or Equivalent (required) 2. Associate’s Degree or equivalent (preferred) 3. Must have a minimum of 3 years fire experience; experience in ARFF firefighting (preferred)

Requirements: 1. National Pro-board Firefighter 1 or higher. 2. PA EMT-B or higher. 3. Current and valid driver’s license. 4. ARFF FAR Part 139. 5. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. 6. Have improvisational skills. 7. Must be able to wear heavy firefighter equipment and still be effective in the field. 8. Must be able to operate all firefighting hoses and other equipment. 9. Be willing to go inside damaged buildings or hazardous areas in order to extinguish fires or aid at-risk employees. 10. Must have the ability to speak, read and write English language. 11. Must be a US citizen, Permanent resident Alien, or person granted status as an asylee.

Notes: 1. Extended work hours beyond 40 hours per week may be required. 2. Mental demand is great during normal work hours.
