The ideal candidate will perform duties as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for the Global Positioning System (GPS) III Control Segment (GCS) contract located at Wooten Rd Colorado Springs, Colorado. Major duties include ISSO responsibilities as defined as part of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) directive, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and the DSS Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM). Duties include, but not limited, weekly auditing of the information system, certification & accreditation activities, and coordination and supporting secure systems operations and maintenance. Candidate will be responsible for system security, testing and system accreditation activities. Develop and implement government approved information security procedures and plans for the operation of multiple networked and standalone classified computers and coordinate government agency approvals. Candidate will conduct or oversee self-inspections and will maintain compliance with the RMF, NISPOM, DAAPM, corporate directives, pertinent DoD Information Assurance (IA)/Cyber instructions and other government contractual security commitments. The candidate will be responsible for writing, implementing, and maintaining system security plans; updating contingency plans and any disaster recovery plans required by government customers. The candidate is expected to conduct ongoing security reviews and tests of the IS to periodically verify that security features and operating controls are functional and effective and utilize security-related software for the detection of malicious code, viruses, and inside threat intruders (hackers) as appropriate. The successful candidate is expected to have a working knowledge of RMF, NISPOM and Information Assurance requirements as well as technical understanding of hardening and mitigating a variety of hardware and software. The position requires an individual with a record of success as a team member and motivator. Candidate must be familiar with standard MS Office applications, be a self-starter, a disciplined worker and have a professional reputation for integrity. Telecommuting is not available for this position.

Basic Qualifications Qualifications for this position: * Knowledge of supporting Information System Security activities as either a Systems Administrator or Systems Engineer and familiar with RMF, NISPOM and Certification & Accreditation processes * Technical background with information technology * Must be able to work flexible hours * Experience with Windows products and UNIX operating systems * Applicant selected maybe subject to an additional government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Must hold a Final SECRET government security clearance

Desired skills * Auditing experience and System Security Plan Development *Certification as directed in DoD Directive 8570.01M (e.g., Network +, Security+, CISSP) able to obtain within 6 months of employment * Previous ISSO and/or System Administration experience
