Lockheed Martin Manufacturing Engineer Sr in Dallas, Texas
Manages repair process planning, develops new processes, and implements processing improvements within area of responsibility. Plans and presents engineering program and product design reviews for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Develops and requests design and specification change releases. Assesses and communicates impact of engineering initiatives to functional groups. Duties: • Provides technical support to functional groups • Assesses blade risk prior to initiating repairs • Provides standard and expanded repair support to Operations • Develops and revises process work instructions • Develops process improvements • Determines operational standard hours • Implements process controls • Develops root cause analysis and implements corrective actions • Implements SPC charting of select processes • Develops processing solutions to cost/occurrence defect drivers • Researches design requirements/blueprint definition • Researches OEM process specification requirements • Participates in Quality Clinics • Provides training leadership and guidance • Participates in productivity improvements
The individual is required to be a supportive member of Environmental Safety & Health (ESH) and Quality System policies to provide a safe work place and eliminate conditions and behaviors which may cause work related illnesses and/or injuries while delivering quality product and services on time
Basic Qualifications Minimum: Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Technology, relevant technical discipline, or equivalent composite/aviation manufacturing/repair experience.
Desired skills 10 years related technical experience with composites and/or aviation production or repair. • Candidate must possess Change Management skills and ability to drive change throughout the organization. Demonstrated leadership and communication skills. Knowledge of process change implementation. • Candidate must possess the ability to think strategically and work through tactical implementation of a major engineering change initiative. Analytical and results orientation. Ability to multi-task and possess detail orientation. • Knowledge and experience with 6Sigma, ACE, lean or DMAIC, and continuous improvement philosophies and methodologies required. • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral required. Team player and motivator skills required to establish and sustain a lean culture. • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, & Access) required.
