Lockheed Martin Human Resources Assistant Specialist in Eglin Afb, Florida
Under the general supervision of the Human Resources Manager position provides human resources and administrative support to employees assigned to the F-35 Maintenance Support program. Position is located at customer site in Eglin AFB, Fort Walton Beach Florida; however, position will be tasked to provide support to employees assigned to various domestic locations.
Position performs a variety of tasks in such areas as employee records maintenance, benefits, education/training, employment, compensation, and equal employment opportunity. Maintains both manual and automated records and prepares reports. In accordance with procedures, furnishes information to authorized persons and/or agencies. Provides information and answers questions regarding personnel policies and procedures.
Position requires frequent contact with personnel inside and outside the company and requires reasonable tact, judgement and discretion, appropriate self-expression and a working knowledge of policies, and procedures.
Duties/Responsibilities Assists with new hire orientation, ensures that necessary paperwork is completed and submitted by employee in a timely manner. Follows up with Staffing and/or hiring manager regarding any missing or incomplete paperwork. Verifies the completeness of all documentation pertaining to new hires and processes same in accordance with established procedures. Coordinates employee out-processing, prepares separation notices and related documentation for individuals exiting the organization.
Administers a variety of activities designed to support positive employee relations and morale. Assist Operations Team with mission related administrative and clerical tasks such as preparation of TDY profiles and preparation of expense reports. Ensures all required state and federal posters and legal notices are posted as required. Explains policies and works with site management team to effectively resolve employee issues. May be asked by HR Business Partner overseeing site to gather information regarding employee relations issues.
Assists site leadership with drafting communications to employee population. Collects and assimilates data from various sources to create reports and briefings. Coordinates planning of company meetings and events hosted by the site.
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned or required to fulfill function of this position. Typical daily office hours for the position are Monday thru Friday 7:00 am – 3:30pm with ability to work overtime to support mission requirements. Occasional travel (less than 10%) to other locations may be required to support mission requirements.
Basic Qualifications • High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of directly related experience. • Proficiency with Microsoft office package. • Effective oral and written communication skills. • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices. • Excellent administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills required. • Ability to accomplish daily tasking with minimal guidance • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, be self-starting and self- motivating. • Be flexible, cooperative and responsive, demonstrate a customer service focus. • Constructively handle and respond to conflict. • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. • Demonstrate respect and sensitivity when handling inquiries from employees, leaders and external parties.
Desired skills AA in Human Resources.
Knowledge and or experience in working under the Service Contract Act (SCA)
Previous experience working for a government contractor in the aviation or defense industry
