Lockheed Martin Field & Service Mechanic A in Fort Worth, Texas
Perform the final preparation of aircraft and the diagnosis, repair and rework of operational malfunction or failure disclosed during preparation, preflight, post flight, and/or actual flight and flight test operations. Responsible for the acceptableness of all electrical, hydraulic-pneumatic, propulsion, pressurized compartments, aircraft compartments, general airframe condition, aircraft furnishings and crew escape system of the airplane for ground, flight and flight test operations. Will be required to remove panels and associated hardware to obtain access equipment requiring repair. May perform any and all standard work associated with Aircraft Assembler Structures (RF3063), Aircraft Assembler Electrical (RF3062) or (RF3023 Aircraft Mechanic). Standing/Sitting: Requires full time standing with limited resting periods and to walk distances. Sit for extended periods if required. Heights: Able to work at heights. Able to climb stairs or ladders as required. Able to work off of step stools, scissor lifts, lift platforms and aircraft structure without handrails. Overhead work: Able to work overhead as required. Weight restriction: Able to Lift/push/pull/carry a minimum of 25 lbs Body positioning: Able to twist/bend (neck or waist) and stoop. Able to work in awkward positions as required. Able to squat/kneel/crawl/reach as required. Work content: Able to use/hold/manipulate small tools and parts with hands. Simple grasping, power grasping and fine manipulation is required. Able to use vibrating tools and perform torqueing operations. Able to use power moving equipment and power moving equipment. Repetitive tasks will be performed. Vision/Hearing: High level Hand/Eye coordination required. Corrective lenses may be used. Eye protection required in many instances. Color differentiation may be required. Must be able to hear at level required for positions. Environmental: Able to work around noise, chemicals, fumes and dust. Capable of using respirators and other personal protective equipment including hearing protection if required. Able to work outside if needed. Attendance: Regular attendance required based on set work schedule. Able to work any shift. Vehicles/Power moving equipment: Able to operate equipment or machinery as required. Able to work around heavy equipment and machinery.
Basic Qualifications Experience in the operational checkout of systems of an aircraft in one or more fields of specialization in structural, electrical, hydraulics, propulsion.
Experience using testing equipment and tools.
Experience in structural rework, repair, and modification.
Experience with assembly theory, practice, and procedure and removal and repair techniques.
Experience with ground handling and test equipment.
Four (4) years verifiable flight line experience is required.
Desired skills Military tactical aircraft experience preferred.
Experience with hydraulic systems, airframe modification, and wiring harness installation/trouble shooting.
