Lockheed Martin Simulation Software Engineer Sr in Fort Worth, Texas
The selected candidate will be a technical staff member for laboratory software development within the LM Aero Labs and Technical Services (L&TS) Simulation Team. This organization develops state of the art, real-time, pilot-in-the-loop fighter and airlift simulations and systems integration laboratories. This includes simulators for the F-16, F-22, F-35, C-5, C-130J, and L-100 aircraft. Software will be developed in C++, Languages for Linux, Windows, or Solaris platforms. Selected candidate may operate and maintain existing laboratory venues. Assignments may change over time as required by the organization. Initial assignment will likely involve integrating and configuring Image Generator systems for use in system integration laboratories. Design, development and modification of visual databases, and image generation models may be required as well.
This position offers the opportunity to travel within the United States and internationally.
This position may require unique program security clearances that will be initiated upon selection and acceptance in filling this position. Final approval of these security clearances is dependent upon the Department of Defense (DoD) and could take an extensive amount of time to be granted. During this waiting period, the work assignments directly related to this position will be limited. Therefore, auxiliary organization work assignments will be provided.
Basic Qualifications Must be a US Citizen or legally authorized to work in US as a permanent resident. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Experience in the use of Windows and Linux Operating Systems. - Understanding of basic network configuration protocols - Experience interfacing with components through an ICD Interface Control Documents - Ability to develop software in high order languages (C, C++, Java, or Ada)
Desired skills - Knowledge of 3D modelling concepts - Knowledge of GIS (Geospatial Information Systems) concepts - Strong problem solving skills - Bash Scripting - Ability to communicate clearly in technical writing - Experience in integration of Image Generators into Simulations - Experience in developing software interfaces to Image Generators - Experience in development of Image Generation 3d models and databases - CIGI (Common Image Generator Interface) protocol experience
