This position reports to the F-35 Support Equipment (SE) Systems Engineering Manager and works in the Corrosion Control and Prevention group. In this position the successful individual will analyze F-35 SE performance in terms of Corrosion Control Prevention throughout the entire Life Cycle, as a product improvement effort. The individual will provide engineering integration and engineering support to successfully execute management of the F-35 Corrosion Prevention and Control Plan. The individual will interface with Squadron Operating Units (SOU) users, Sustainment Engineers, Reliability & Maintainability and Joint Program Office (JPO) to effectively manage the JSF Corrosion Control program. The interface with SOU may include travel to the customer’s sites, engage and respond to program / customer requirements. The individual must have knowledge and experience to initiate and develop concise formats; generate / present numerical information utilizing readouts, graphs, charts, tables, written reports or other methods to effectively convey corrosion issues and solutions to all stakeholders. The individual will provide input to continuously update the F-35 SE Corrosion Prevention and Control Plan on an annual basis. The individual will maintain an active line of communication with stakeholders to solicit feedback for potential inclusion into the plan.
Basic Qualifications Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level. The candidate must have a direct practical experience in either military legacy SE or military aircraft maintenance in a flight-line environment. The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of U.S. aviation maintenance concept at both the unit and intermediate level. The individual must have experience working with Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Access.
Desired skills Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment including engineers, aircraft, and support equipment maintenance communities. Be familiar with DoD and NATO directives, including Military Standards, specifications and Handbook. Experience with aircraft systems such as hydraulics, fuel, flight control surfaces and propulsion. Practical knowledge and understanding aviation maintenance Corrosion Control / Corrosion Prevention Program. Must have an understanding of the Systems Engineering approach.
