Lockheed Martin RF Engineer Senior Staff Satellite Communications Gaithersburg, MD in Gaithersburg, Maryland
This position is for a senior RF and communications engineer who will perform analysis, modeling and simulation of satellite communications protocols and waveforms to determine link performance, system capacity, and ground RF subsystem sizing.
The engineer also contributes to the development of a number of specifications (CONOPS, architecture, requirements, ICDs, and integration plans) to support the procurement, development, integration, and installation of ground segment of a SATCOM system.
Basic Qualifications Focus on communications and RF; strong background in communications theory and practice, to include coding, modulation, link budget analysis, and Matlab-based M&S of comm. systems, waveform characteristics (e.g. TDMA, FDMA, spread spectrum, etc.), experience in satellite communications systems, in particular, RF subsystems of ground equipment and interfaces to baseband.
Desired skills DVB-S/S2, DVB-RCS/RCS2 or similar protocols and standards, Protected SATCOM, frequency hopping systems, Matlab, basics of orbital mechanics. Degree in EE or equivalent
