Lockheed Martin Hypersonic Senior Program Manager in Grand Prairie, Texas

The Hypersonic Senior Program Manager is responsible for managing and leading all aspects of the High Speed Strike Weapon (HSSW) Increment one program to include: development of the booster, ordinance package, AUR integration and support flight testing and system and subsystem qualification to deliver a capability to the USAF.

The role will be responsible for executing the effort as an IWTA with the prime contract holder, LM Aeronautics Advanced Development Programs (ADP) in Palmdale Ca.

The position will require frequent interface and interaction with senior Air Force and DARPA personnel, Lockheed Martin senior leadership from ADP and MFC, and supplier management.

Basic Qualifications The Hypersonic Senior Program Manager will have demonstrated capability in the following areas:

Current Secret clearance with updated investigation within the last 5 years and the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

12 years of program management experience in a government environment (execution and production phase).

Full Spectrum Leader - Must meet the requirements of a full spectrum leader.

Earned Value Management - Understands standard metrics (Cost Performance Index (CPI), Schedule Performance Index (SPI), To Complete Performance Index (TCPI), cost and schedule variances, Management Reserve (MR), etc.). Understands implications of variation. Able to formulate & execute corrective actions as required.

Integrated Master Plan/Integrated Master Schedule (IMP/IMS) - Understands the importance of plans and schedules. Utilizes the tools to manage all projects/programs. Able to formulate and execute recovery as required.

Risk Management - experienced in risk mitigation and opportunity development. Understands the value of identifying and managing programs risks; Formulates risk burn down plans and ensures incorporation into project/program plans and schedules. Utilizes risk tools to manage projects/programs.

Management of subcontractors and supply chain – Works with supply chain management to ensure product meets quality, cost and schedule requirements.

Development of team environment. Must have an excellent success record in delivering results, motivating a team, and ability to forge strong relationships. Ensures all team members perform to expectations. Ensures issues are vetted through teams in a timely manner.

Formal presentation skills - Able to build presentations to deliver intended message; Able to deliver message as charted.

Communication skills - Possesses written and oral skills to work within organization at all levels. Effectively delivers intended message.

Organizational skills - Able to develop structure in support of managing contract tasks. Able to identify and staff organization. Able to recognize and take corrective action when required. Talent development. Able to develop and maintain succession plans for key staff. Able to assess talent levels of staff. Able to formulate development plans based upon assessment.

Problem resolution - Able to work through problems quickly and effectively; have the ability to look at multiple sides of a problem, conduct appropriate trades to develop a balanced solution. Ability to know what level of engagement is required; communicate to team a timetable for resolution.

Decision making - Decisive under pressure and has the ability to delegate and hold people accountable. Provide the team with timely decisions (if they are yours). Provide explanations as required to gain team support.

Time Management - Ability to assess and manage tasks and priorities; delegate and hold accountable where appropriate.

Business Development - Responsible for keeping the ongoing contract sold and develop the follow-on program; develop and maintain required relationship with the Customer; Work with technical staff and Business Development to ensure talent is deployed properly

Technical Capabilities - Must possess and grow relevant technical capabilities; Leverage technical staff where required; embrace each technical event as an opportunity to learn more about system and specific technical specialty.

Desired skills Development and transition to production program experience is preferred.

A broad background in a dealing with a dynamic development environment with experience in dealing with program leadership, system engineering, design, and test experience.

Technology demonstration program experience (Weapon Systems, Test, Launcher, and Missile), including knowledge of all phases of the program’s life cycle (Concept Definition, Demonstration / Validation, EMD, Production, and Post Deployment) is a plus.

Proposal experience with multiple customers and systems during various phases, including production efforts.
