Lockheed Martin Senior Systems Engineer / Architect / Grand Prairie, TX in Grand Prairie, Texas

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Systems Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie, TX to provide system engineering design and analysis support for military missile systems. Duties include: Elicit customer needs

Architect solutions to those needs working with algorithms and prototype teams

Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints

Develops interface specifications, and verification planning.

Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses

Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal

Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications


Basic Qualifications Must have or be able to obtain a Secret clearance

Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related discipline

5 years of systems engineering experience supporting technical programs

Knowledge of system definition, system integration, verification and validation activities, throughout the life cycle of a product

Knowledge of converting customer or product requirements into systems solutions, including requirement and interface definition

Knowledge of analyses such as:

Trade Studies

Desired skills Familiarity with military systems, including missiles, sensors and/or ground vehicles Experience deriving software/behavioral requirements from system level requirements, including Use Cases, sequence diagrams and similar Familiarity with autonomous, partially autonomous, robotic, and/or swarming systems Competent with capturing and documenting System Definition via System Modeling Competent with architecture definition and development Familiar with hardware/software integration and test Familiar with the requirement managements process, including tools such as DOORs Experience working with sub-contractors, managing and teams Excellent communication skills, both written and oral Experience leading a complex product development Experience managing teams, work and products Can envision goals, define plans to reach them, and lead the team along the way
