Lockheed Martin Acoustics Technical Lead in Jupiter, Florida
The Engineering and Technology Avionics organization has an opening for a Acoustics Technical Lead . The candidate will be responsible for the overall management and execution of SONAR / Acoustic projects, providing technical leadership, architecture development, and strategic oversight of acoustic programs and pursuits, including supplier management, proposals, flight test, training and staffing required to support enterprise objectives for airborne acoustic systems.
The scope of responsibility includes: - Primary point of contact and liaison for Sikorsky SONAR / Acoustic projects. - Coordinate dipping sonar operator staffing requirements to align with engineering, training and pilot’s. - Develop a standardized dipping sonar operator training approach for flight test engineers and operators and release as a T-GUIDE after peer review. - Provide continued safey oversight over dipping sonar operators including maintaining training and operational records. - Support acoustic operator activities across multiple platforms; CMHP, S-70B, MH-60R, when requiring acoustic aircrew/operator support, including manual and test procedure / report review and comments. - Maintain flight qualifications, performing flight operations as required.
Candidate will assume ownership of a acoustic projects to ensure Statement of Work compliance while also ensuring compliance with safety practices and company policies.
This position will be based in Jupiter Florida. Candidate must be flexible and willing to travel to support customer requirements (NTE approximately 15% of the time).
Basic Qualifications B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering / Engineering Sciences and/or direct rotorcraft / acoustics experience with increasing levels of responsibility (required).
Desired skills Minimum of 15 years’ experience in an Aeronautical discipline with 20 years in Rotorcraft Underwater Acoustics, Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW), and Development Flight Test experience. Candidate must have excellent communication and presentation skills (written and oral) to support customer interface. Familiarity with military rotorcraft flight operations is required. Skills in analytical thinking and problem solving required.
