The selected candidate will provide helpdesk support activities in the 705 CTS managed Network Operations Center. These duties include computer system administration and application support, configuration, network engineering, troubleshooting, routine maintenance of software and networking tools, and LAN connectivity administration for NIPRnet and SIPRnet. Performs day to day maintenance and the creation of web pages for the Internet Information Server (IIS) in support of DMOC NIPRnet and SIPRnet websites. Install, maintain, and operate a wide variety of computer systems in a dynamic military simulation environment consisting of a variety of operating systems including Microsoft Windows and some Linux. Performs extensive system administration duties including the analysis of systems, and network performance in order to identify and resolve hardware or software related problems in a manner that minimizes impacts to the customer's mission. The successful candidate keeps up-to-date with technological advances and continually evaluates the technologies in order to find solutions that will best meet customer requirements. The successful candidate presents technically detailed recommendations for changes or improvements clearly in written documentation and oral presentations; and, is involved in IT procurement IPTs (technical lead and/or technical SME role) to ensure new systems and technology meet Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) technical and Cybersecurity requirements. Responsibilities include analysis of systems, and associated applications to provide the highest level of availability and performance to meet the customer mission objectives. Installation of approved Commercial off the shelf (COTS), Government off the shelf (GOTS), and custom developed software. Configuration of new systems and associated applications. Performance of general system administration duties including managing user accounts, answering technical questions, and applying updates or patches. Develops or assists in the development of new designs. Interfaces with military customer and other DMOC contractors in a cohesive team environment. Uses excellent customer skills when interfacing with team members. Creates and documents installation and startup procedures for existing and future applications. A self-starter able to work independently and in a team environment.
Basic Qualifications Possess both Microsoft Windows and Linux/Unix systems administration skills and experience building and maintaining workstation and server systems for those operating systems. Ability to harden systems based on the Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to meet the DOD standard IA requirements. Extensive experience translating and applying DoD/AF security and EMSEC requirements to daily tasks.
Desired skills Certified in Microsoft Win7/Server 2008R2/2012R2. A good working knowledge of MS Windows and Desktop applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc and common DoD desktop applications. Administration skills and management of Internet Information Server (IIS).
Current Security+ CE Certification is required. A Secret security clearance is required.
