Lockheed Martin Director, Compensation & Performance Management in Littleton, Colorado
This Lockheed Martin Compensation & Performance Management (C&PM) leadership position plays a key role in providing critical subject matter consultation to the Vice President, Human Resources, HR senior leadership team and business leaders in developing solutions to address emerging business needs and meet strategic objectives in support of the Space Systems Company, with approximately 20,000 employees and over $10 billion annual sales. In addition, this position will provide leadership to a team of C&PM professionals in the administration and delivery of compensation and performance management operating cycle programs and initiatives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Lead the compensation and performance management operations for the Business Area and its affiliates • Partner with senior HR members and business leaders to develop a thorough understanding of the requisite business model, the financial outlook and growth plans, organization’s core jobs and functions, workforce dynamics, and competitive landscape of market factors; • Optimize and execute enterprise-wide executive compensation programs and processes in the areas salary pay planning, executive compensation, reward & recognition programs, employee perquisites, incentives, and performance management; • Plan and execute compensation projects requiring analysis of factors that impact the business segment to derive opportunities for value added solutions in support of the Business Area’s growth strategy, in collaboration with Corporate compensation teams; • Lead compensation and performance presentations with Senior Leaders and the HR community • Manage Executive movement and compensation recommendations • Act as an internal resource on marketplace trends, relevant laws and regulations, and competitive programs; • Provide internal customers with analytics and recommendations regarding compensation programs and initiatives.
Basic Qualifications • Minimum of 10 years of Human Resources Experience with at least 5 years in a compensation leadership role. • Must possess full spectrum leadership imperatives and competencies in order to deliver results, shape the future, build relationships, energize the team, and model personal excellence, integrity, and accountability. • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or related area is required; • Broad based knowledge of HR and payroll operations best practices and compliance • Strong project management experience with knowledge of full project life cycle, including business process design, documentation, execution and change management • Demonstrated experience building strong client relationships; • Demonstrated consultative skills and experience influencing business decisions; • Demonstrated learning agility (picking up information and assimilating effectively and efficiently) • Strong ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems, analyze data and translate into recommendations and presentations; • Excellent collaboration skills across cross-functional and external reporting relationships; • Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to present complex ideas to senior management and other audiences; • Strong working knowledge of compensation policies and programs in LMCO.
Desired skills • At least 3 years of Executive Compensation experience • Familiarity with LMCO Business Area(s) is highly valued; • Experience leading virtual, multiple project teams (e.g. 5-10) through complex change programs; • Demonstrated detail-orientation, multitasking and effective project management skills; • Ability to work either independently or in a team environment, depending on the task.
