Lockheed Martin Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator in Littleton, Colorado
Follow direction given by the Manager or Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC) and in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), in accordance Colorado Regulation 5 CCR 1003-2 100. Cooperate with peers and other employees to accomplish overall company goals.
Operates various controls and processes required in the storing, processing, distribution and transportation of industrial wastewaters to ensure compliance with mandated regulations and permits. Makes necessary adjustments to controls, valves, pumps and other mechanical and electrical equipment as required. Adds chemicals needed for the treatment of wastewater, such as acid, caustic, oxidizers, reducing agents, precipitants and flocculants. Maintains OSHA 40 hour certification.
Responds to hazardous material incidents to support containment and clean up of materials to protect personnel and the environment. Performs process and emergency sampling as required, build temporary containments, clean and mitigate spills. Maintains OSHA 27 hour technician training, medicals and ability to respond.
Operates vacuumed pumper trucks and trailers and dispositions all wastewater in compliance with Regulatory Permits and SOPs. Pump such items such as Industrial tanks, containments, storm water, Chiller/Tower cleaning, utility line leaks, excavation, sanitary clean up, building flooding, etc. Performs maintenance, such as tank, pump and filter cleanings. Must obtain and maintain a Colorado Class ‘A’ Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with ‘O’ and ‘X’ endorsements.
Obtains and maintains current skills training required by regulations, permits and company skills certification. Including: Wastewater Certification and/or Industrial Wastewater Certification; Collection Certification (if obtained), OSHA 40 hour certification, OSHA 27 hour technician training, CDL, etc.
Assists groundwater well sampling, by operating pump/purging, when required.
Operates wastewater collection, treatment and disposal systems, processing waste through such operations as filter screens, grit chambers, clarifier, sedimentation, sludge and settling tanks.
Monitors waste water treatment operations using the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) software. Wears pager, or other device designated by the company to ensure communications with the SCADA system.
Performs process control analysis such tests as pH, ORP and spectrophotometric to determine chemicals dosing.
Performs minor maintenance and emergency repairs to equipment to ensure continued waste management operations. Contacts maintenance group for major overhauls and repairs.
Performs necessary housekeeping to maintain safe working conditions. Safely Operates company vehicles and equipment in support of Wastewater Operations.
Collects and maintains records related to the operation and compliance of wastewater operations, compliance with other environmental regulation, such as SPCC, Storm water, ground water O&M, etc.
Cleans and maintains wastewater treatment units, such as Carbon, sand filters, batch tanks, etc.
Basic Qualifications Class D Industrial or Wastewater Certification, Class C or higher Industrial Wastewater Certification preferred
Desired skills OSHA 40 hour Certification, OSHA Technician Level 3, Class A CDL with 'O' restriction and 'X' endorsement
