Lockheed Martin International Trade Compliance Engineer Senior in Littleton, Colorado
• The International Trade Compliance Engineer Staff is an experienced export/import licensing and compliance professional, with in-depth understanding of the USG export laws, regulations, licensing and compliance process and whom brings their engineering knowledge and skills to bear on jurisdictional and classification analyses and technical data assessments. Collaborates with engineering and programs within LM Space Systems Company to ensure required trade compliance coverage of international programs and pursuits. • Liaison with the LM Corporate International Trade Compliance Office to coordinate all necessary interactions with the U.S. Government regarding the export/import licensing of defense articles and services and commercial goods in support of international aerospace and defense business as required to resolve trade compliance regulatory issues. • Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings concerning proposed international sales of commercial, civil and defense sales. • Provides guidance to business line personnel on export/import licensing requirements, applicability of exemptions and/or license exceptions, and potential policy issues associated with international defense business. • Develops licensing strategies in support of new business initiatives’ writes export license applications consistent with US regulations, policies and guidelines and LM Space Systems Company business objectives. • Maintains frequent contact with business line personnel, other LMC trade compliance professionals, USG personnel industry peers. • Functions as an adviser and mentor for junior personnel. • Understands compliance processes, champions process improvement, provides training on the implementation of U.S. export laws and regulations and associated internal compliance controls. • Assists and supports the Director, LM Space Systems International Trade Compliance Office, as required, to implement LM Space Systems export policies and procedures. • May support Corporate audit, legal and ethics departments, as required.
Basic Qualifications • Detailed knowledge of ITAR and EAR • Extensive experience in writing and submitting ITAR and EAR licenses for import and export of USML and CCL articles • Familiarity with US Customs regulations and import/export licensing and compliance • Engineering experience, knowledge and/or education • Experience and/or capability to conduct jurisdictional and classification analyses • Excellent writer
Desired skills • Detailed knowledge of Commerce and State export/import regulations • Certification as an Import or Export International Trade Professional • Licensed Customs Broker or extensive Customs experience • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, SharePoint • Experience with international shipments/traffic • Knowledge and experience with LMC export/import processes and procedures • Knowledge of space/satellite systems/technology • Engineering background/experience and/or ability to make technical determinations related to the export of data and hardware • Audit experience
