Lockheed Martin Mechanical Engineer Asc in Littleton, Colorado
The successful candidate will participate in research, design, development, and production support for Electronic Packaging and Interconnects on the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program. The individual will be assigned varied tasks with direction from a senior lead engineer. The candidate will be responsible in assisting in development and production of mechanical hardware including chassis, covers, circuit card assemblies, heatsinks, thermal dissipators, and printed wiring boards. The candidate will assist in investigating design factors such as equipment or part availability, manufacturability, ease of assembly, weight and cost, evaluate vendor designs, develop and maintain assembly and test documentation, and trouble shoot and correct anomalies and discrepant hardware. The candidate will assist in trade analyses and preparing briefing materials. The candidate will also participate in failure investigation teams.
Basic Qualifications 1. B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline 2. Fundamental understanding of basic Mechanical Engineering principles, theories and concepts 3. Proficient in 3D solid modeling 4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications 5. Good written and verbal communication skills 6. Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment 7. Secret clearance or ability to obtain secret clearance
Desired skills 1. Knowledge of Mechanical Design principles including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) 2. Fundamental understanding of materials 3. Experience in EPDM 4. Additive manufacturing experience 5. Design for manufacturability experience 6. Proficient with PTC CREO for solid modeling
