Lockheed Martin Mechanical Engineer Asc in Littleton, Colorado

This position is located in Denver Colorado and supports the Air Force Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Technical Maturation and Risk Reduction (TMRR) Program. This Mechanical Engineer Assoc position supports the Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Post Boost Propulsion System (PBPS) Lead by developing PBPS structural requirements & generate element, subsystem specs - Provide verification and validation tracking for the subsystem specification - Preliminary structural and dynamic analysis of primary and key secondary structures - Interface definition with Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C)/Avionics, propulsion subcontractor, RS/RV, boost propulsion and ordnance. - Primary and key secondary structural modeling, preliminary design and drawing generation, including the interface control document (ICD). - Drawing and analysis review and approval - Inputs to preliminary design Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) report - Thermal analysis of structure, including external launch and ascent environments, propulsion exhaust induced environments, propulsion exhaust induced environment and component heating - Resolution of technical issues - Prepare SRR artifacts pertaining to PBPS & support SRR - Assess system PDR-level design and analyses, such as PBPS reliability, availability, maintainability, survivability, nuclear hardness, EMI/EMC, hazard analyses, system safety, age sensitivity analyses, etc. - Support PBPS TMRR trade studies from structures aspect, assess results and generate trade study CDRL report: - Liquid bi-propellant vs solid propellant vs alternate propellants - Thruster location/sizing, gimbaled axial vs fixed distributed - Provide inputs to model based Systems Engineering artifacts. - Prepare & support CCTIM, SFR, SSR, 9QTIM, PDR and 6 other TIMS This position will start in September of 2017, and is contingent upon the GBSD TMRR award in September of 2017.
