Lockheed Martin Mechanical Engineer Sr Stf in Littleton, Colorado

The Structural Dynamics Engineer will be responsible for: Performing detailed structural dynamics analysis, dynamics design support, mechanical environments derivation, and dynamic test design and execution for aerospace vehicle systems, structures, components, and payloads using standardized processes and tools, as well as providing supervision of junior dynamics engineers. Performing coupled loads analysis, providing structural dynamics engineering reports, technical memos, and data packages to support management, customer, and peer reviews. Presenting structural dynamics analysis results to management, customer, and external customer consultants. Developing and maintaining dynamic analysis tools. Developing dynamic test inputs, instrumentation/data acquisition requirements, and supervising the execution dynamic tests, and interpreting/correlating dynamic test data with structural dynamics models and simulations.

Basic Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Mechanical Engineering/Structural Mechanics program or equivalent from an accredited college/university with a minimum of 12 years of experience in Structural Dynamics. A Master's degree is strongly preferred for this position. Advanced Static/Structural Dynamics analysis capability using NASTRAN and finite element modeling using NX or equivalent is required. Proficient in programming and use of MATLAB for analysis and data manipulation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. The ability to work with little to no direction and to lead a small team. Experience with performing Dynamics Testing including; Modal, Acoustic, Random Vibration, and Shock testing.

Desired skills Ability to lead other engineers in a collaborative and highly integrated team environment. Ability and desire to work independently, or to lead a small team and assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently. Demonstrated communication and organizational skills. Expert in the area of coupled loads analysis, Dynamics testing and Multi-body Dynamics.

Expertise with modern substructure modeling and assembly technology and component mode synthesis methods such as Craig-Bampton substructuring. Familiarity with composite and metallic structures and associated structural analysis. Expertise with vibration, acoustic, modal, and shock testing of aerospace vehicles and components. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience with requirements identification, derivation, development, integration, verification, and validation.

Experience with Failure Investigation and analysis, statistical analysis methods and solder fatigue analysis methods is a plus.
