Lockheed Martin Mechanical Engineer Stf in Littleton, Colorado
This position is located in Denver Colorado and supports the Air Force Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Technical Maturation and Risk Reduction (TMRR) Program. This Mechanical Engr Staff position supports the Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Propulsion Manager in developing the preliminary design for the solid rocket motors (SRM). - Interfacing with SRM motor and Thrust Vector Control System teammates in the development of the SRM and TVC specifications including requirement analysis, allocation and decomposition. - Management of Teammates designs and analysis review – review 3D-CAD model compatibility with the booster elements and associated technical data, review of external analyses such as trajectory performance, structural analyses, dynamic analyses, thermal analyses, etc. in compliance with requirements and interfaces - Provide verification and validation tracking for subsystem documentation. - Allocate interface constraints for each teammate including Ordnance, Avionics, Flight Test Equipment. - Perform Boost Propulsion TMRR trade studies, assess results and generate trade study CDRL report. - Work with the flight sciences group of models for aero, trajectories analysis, loads, dynamics and thermal along with mass properties in implementing the propulsion preliminary design. - Assess system related PDR level design and analyses, such as Boost Propulsion contribution to Range/Payload, Trajectory, Thrust Vector Control, and motor-level performance - Document and mature MBSE boost propulsion artifacts - Support the propulsion team in developing products and deliverables required for the program System Requirements Review, Trade Studies for the Cost Capability TIM, System Functional Review and Preliminary Design Review and 6 TIMs culminating in the preliminary design and engineering for the SRM/TVC. This position will start in September of 2017, and is contingent upon the GBSD TMRR award in September of 2017.
