Although the standard job description and job title both state Software, the candidate will need to perform both Software and some Hardware Quality for this job.
Position requires an experienced Software/Hardware Quality Engineer knowledgeable of SW/HW engineering development processes, procedures and tools. Responsible for facilitating root cause analysis and implementing process improvements across functional areas and program Task Orders. Will be responsible for reviewing customer deliverables, participating in software and hardware development activities, supporting internal peer reviews of technical products and documentation, witnessing of tests activities, performing process/product evaluations and audits, supporting Work Product Inspections, monitoring and coordinating Corrective Action Requests, and supporting program assessments and ensuring product/process compliance.
Basic Qualifications Required Skills: Basic knowledge of the Software Development life-cycle and support functions (QA, CM, etc.) Knowledge of software and/or hardware design & test. Knowledge of LM21 and Program Excellent Plan process Knowledge of various Process Improvement techniques and experience in applying those techniques, such as leading Structured Improvement Activities (SIA) Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 standards Knowledge and experience in applying root cause analysis to various issues Presentation material development experience and providing presentations to varying size audiences and levels of engineering and management Must have group facilitation skills and be capable of performing process audits, conducting system, software or document inspections during all phases of the program life cycle.
Desired skills Desired Skills: Experience supporting the DCGS Products Understanding of System Development (Hardware) - Apply architecture and ensure requirements are met in the solution Knowledge of Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) model Process Areas Knowledgeable of HW engineering development processes, procedures and tools. Experience with P2P. Be able to perform CDRL Reviews LM21 Green Belt or Black Belt certified MS Product experience (Excel, MS Access, On-Note, etc.) Ability to provide process training and LM21 techniques Experience with CDRL reviews Experience providing input and or developing CPAR self-assessments Experience developing Basis of Estimates Software and Hardware Inspections process Software testing process and test witness experience Lessons Learned Process Experience Experience in using or maintaining Requirements Management tools, such as DOORs Experience mentoring junior engineers Witness System Test Sell Off of Requirements at Customer Site Supplier Quality experience. Statistical analysis Experience with Reality Charting or other root cause analysis tools. Knowledgeable of defect tracking/reporting and analysis tools. Experience with Subcontract Management • Statement of Work Review • Review/Approve SDRLs • Witness Subcontract Qualification Test at their facility • Monitor products delivered and support Subcontract Management Team
