Lockheed Martin College Student Tech (Intern) in Liverpool, New York

This mechanical engineer will work as part of a concurrent engineering team to develop electro-mechanical packaging concepts for elements of undersea systems. As a minimum, this candidate will be expected to interface with electrical engineers, draftsmen and Operations personnel on the development of detailed packaging designs and assembly strategies. Selected candidate will work closely with a senior engineer, drafting, component technology and configuration management personnel in the preparation and release of engineering specifications, parts lists and drawings. Documentation and reporting of schedule, financial and technical progress on all task responsibilities is expected.

Candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a team oriented product development organization. Proficiency with the use of personal computers, including word processing and graphical applications is required.

Basic Qualifications Three years of college classes in pursuit of a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. Ability to work in integrated teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Desired skills Some level of exposure to Pro/Engineer CAD software and/or finite element analysis.
