Lockheed Martin College Student Tech (Intern) in Liverpool, New York

This electrical engineer will work as part of an diverse engineering team that develops electronic components and subsystems for large scale radar and undersea systems. As a minimum, this candidate will be expected to interface with other electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, draftsmen and Operations (Manufacturing) personnel on the development of detailed electrical designs. Selected candidate will work closely with a senior engineers in the design, assembly and test of these complex electronic systems. Documentation and reporting of schedule, financial and technical progress on all task responsibilities is expected. Candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a team oriented product development organization. Proficiency with the use of personal computers, including word processing and graphical applications is required.Responsible for working on the early design of Electrical Power Systems for Ground Based Radar Systems. The individual will work alongside with Senior Engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SME) and across various programs to determine power needs and to design power circuits and subsystems to meet such needs. The individual will test power and analog circuitry and support failure analysis, discrepancy documentation, resolution and troubleshooting.

Basic Qualifications Two years of college classes in pursuit of a BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Physics. Ability to work in integrated teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of Analog Circuits, some design and analysis. Familiar with Power Systems engineering. Interest in design of Power Systems - including Linear and Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS). Familiarity with Lab Equipment - O-Scopes, DVMs, etc.

Desired skills PSPICE and/or LTSPICE simulation tools. Power System Simulation and Modeling Experience. PSIM tool Experience. Knowledge of Electrical Safety Standards. Knowledge of EMI/EMC Basic Understanding of magnetics.
