This mechanical hardware engineer will work as part of an engineering team to develop Radar & Electronic Warfare electronics packaging solutions for a variety of Ground Based, Shipboard and Airborne platforms and applications. Will develop and analyze designs for thermal performance, structural design and environmental survivability in harsh military environments.

Based in an Integrated Product Team environment, assignments will include new designs and/or modifications to existing products. Will be expected to work collaboratively with other mechanical engineers as well as representatives from manufacturing, quality, drafting and other engineering disciplines to achieve low cost and highly producible designs.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications Experience in computer aided design and analysis tools, especially PRO/E or CREO or similar tools. Knowledge of mechanical analysis and environmental requirements. Must be proficient with the use of personal computers including word processing and spreadsheets as well as documenting work performed for review and archiving. Prior work experience should demonstrate the ability to meet design requirements, scheduled milestones and budgets. The selected candidate shall possess good presentation and communication skills.

Desired skills Candidates should have experience in the following areas of electronics packaging: -Electronic packaging at the Circuit Card Assembly, Line Replaceable Unit and equipment rack level -Knowledge in materials selection and corrosion control techniques for electronic assemblies -Structural analysis & finite element analysis modeling skills -Thermal analysis using conduction and convective methods of heat transfer is desired -Experience with designing and specifying both liquid and air-cooled thermal management systems -Familiarity with ASME Y14.5, GD&T and model based definition are desired -Experience with MS Office tools and analysis tools such as Matlab and MathCAD -Experience in PWB layout and checking tools -Customer / supplier interface experience
