Lockheed Martin Aircraft Maintenance Specialty Engineer Associate - Entry Level in Marietta, Georgia
Perform technical edit/audit on aircraft component operational/maintenance technical documentation (e.g. manuals, service bulletins, supplements) that have been created or revised. Edit technical publications and documents for consistency, level of readability, proper style, format, spelling, grammar, and proper incorporation of customer or engineering source data to ensure that the documentation produced adheres to the expressed desired level of quality. Be knowledgeable in the various commercial/defense specifications and ensure that the documentation created/revised by Technical Writers and Technical Illustrators adhere to these specifications. Work with internal and/or external users, writers, and support personnel to determine editorial requirements and interpret customer needs. Salary $44,000.00 to $58,000.00 depending upon skills and experience.
Basic Qualifications Must be a US Citizen or legally authorized to work in US as a permanent resident. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education. Technical aptitude. Entry level.
Desired skills Familiar with military technical manuals and specifications (Illustrated Parts Breakdown, Job Guides, Flight Manuals, Fault Isolation Manuals, General System Manuals, Service Bulletins) preferably C130 or C5. Ability to edit technical writing. Technical knowledge of C130 or C5 systems is a plus. Understanding and knowledge of publishing is also a plus.
Experience in Technical Publications performing Quality Checks; highly organized; process and detail oriented; manuscript editing experience; experience in editing technical and/or aircraft maintenance/operational information; strong communication skills and tact; computer literate; good attention to detail.
Possess the ability to learn quickly and work independently in a fast-paced environment
