Lockheed Martin C-5 Chief Pilot in Marietta, Georgia

The primary point of contact for Flight Operations for all matters related to the C-5 aircraft. This includes but is not limited to:

• Plan and coordinate all Flight Operations activities in support of the C-5 program through routine coordination with the program, engineering and flight line support • Update and maintain the C-5 Flight Standards Manual in coordination with Flight Operations managers as well as Program and Customer Engineering. Lead Flight Operations' efforts to validate and verify compliance with specifications and operational suitability of C-5 models. • Update and maintain the Consolidated Flight Operations Procedures (CFOP) C-5 Annex and contribute to the update and maintenance of the CFOP Core and CFOP Marietta Site Supplement. • Exercise oversight of Flight Operations aircrew support for production acceptance, engineering and experimental flight test and aircrew training events. This includes training, currency, and qualification for these events. • Lead Flight Operations' efforts to review, validate, verify and update C-5 flight manuals. • Serve as the lead Flight Operations engineering design support to the C-5 program and lead the development and execution of aircrew training for new functionality/upgrades to C-5 aircraft. • Serve as the lead point of contact to C-5 program management in long and short term planning for Flight Operations support. This includes requirements definition, Statement of Work development, and contractual quoting for testing, production acceptance, training, and engineering support. • Serve as the lead point of contact and liaison with DCMA leadership and aircrew for all joint C-5 aircrew operations. • Perform C-5 production acceptance flights, test flights, customer demonstration flights and training flights as required. • Provide formal Stakeholder performance feedback to managers for all C-5 aircrew personnel.

Basic Qualifications • Test Pilot School (TPS) graduate from a US DOD approved school or possess sufficient experience to meet the criteria to obtain a waiver for the TPS requirement in accordance with DCMAI 8210.1 or AC-577 (CFOP Core). • Pilot with Turbo Jet and/or Turbo Prop experience with at least 1500 hours of total pilot flying time. • At least 300 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC)/Aircraft Commander flying time in C-5 aircraft. • Current FAA Second Class or First Class physical or equivalent. • Current or previously qualified as an Instructor Pilot or Flight Examiner. • Current or previously qualified to conduct FCF/ACF operations in C-5 aircraft.

Desired skills • C-5M Aircraft Commander/Instructor experience a plus. • Ability to communicate with all levels of management. • FAA Licenses: Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) - Airplane Multi-engine Land Flight Instructor (CFI) – Airplane Multi-engine and/or Instrument Airplane. • At least 3000 hours of total pilot flying time. • C-130 or P-3 pilot experience.
