Perform Supplier Quality Engineering duties for a wide range of mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electrical parts and assemblies: - Determine Purchase Order requirements flow-down - Conduct supplier capability and risk assessments - Resolution of incoming inspection issues, questions, concerns - Resolution of supplier caused defects including containment, root cause analysis, and corrective action - Resolution of material problem reports and material review board requests - Supports shipyard production Quality team as necessary Must be able to travel to supplier locations, at times on short notice.
Basic Qualifications Basic Qualifications - Excellent communication skills - Ability to perform root cause analysis - Understanding of the Material Review Board process - Understanding of supplier quality processes - Outstanding time management and task prioritization
Desired skills Desired skills - CWI Level 2 or higher desired - Familiarity with SAP quality transactions - Knowledge of AS9100and ISO 9001 - Greenbelt certification - Ability to develop and present metrics - Knowledge of estimating, and basis of estimate creating - Technical skills: mechanical or electrical engineering - Basic knowledge of mechanical and metal fabrication processes - Ability to use basic inspection equipment and gauges - Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T) - Ability to understand Engineering Drawings requirements, basic verification methods, and be able to work in fast pace environment to resolve non-compliances in a timely manner - Ability to work with customer, suppliers, and other LM functions to resolve material issues, identify improvements needed and verify implementation - Ability to multi-task in a demanding environment - Ability to perform audits of supplier processes, or internal LM processes as needed - General knowledge of ship fabrication processes, general understanding of High Speed Naval Vessel Requirements, NAVSEA requirements, and contractual requirements - General understanding of risk assessments of suppliers, including RBAT/COMBAT…
