Lockheed Martin Structural Engineer Sr in Melbourne, Florida
Design development of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and tooling to the support fabrication of flight hardware and structural GSE for various programs. Perform structural and stress analyses to support detailed build to print design drawings. Interface with fabrication personnel to correct and resolve design, production and fabrication discrepancies. Coordinate technical matters with other engineering disciplines and teammates. Review, troubleshoot and redesign basic structural and mechanical systems ranging from heavy steel to machine design systems. The ability to quickly comprehend a situation, determine the design requirements, develop a staged process approach and finally implement new designs within a variety of customer situations.
Effectively work within a dynamic team to support the design of large and small support structures for GSE and perform full structural & stress analysis, support production, design and fabrication drawings, and submit completed design packages for final approval. Coordinate with supporting team members to ensure all requirements are met in the design and submission of critical systems.
Additionally candidate must possess effective written and oral communication skills and maintain a high level of professionalism.
Basic Qualifications •Experience with Composite Structures •Aerospace/Mechanical engineering background •Stress Analysis - Classical Hand Analysis & FEA software packages •Experience at developing engineering documentation such as reports, specifications, statement of work, etc. •Experience with Structural and Mechanical Design Systems analysis
Desired skills •ProE and/or CREO Experience Advanced Degree in related field •Experience training and mentoring
