Lockheed Martin Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer / Virtual Position in Middle River, Maryland

This is a virtual position where the ideal candidate will work from their home location. The Quality professional will be responsible for maximizing overall quality and performance of several key suppliers, continuous improvement while driving out risks. Frequent travel to both domestic and international suppliers is required. Will act as a Subject Matter Expert in the area of Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE). This position requires that the candidate stay current with industry standards, and leverage technology into RMS GSCS (Global Supply Chain Services) programs. Duties and capabilities include, but are not limited to: - Performance at suppliers of scheduled product source inspections, first articles, and product line validations as outlined by AS9102 and applicable company and industry standards - Coordinate source and first article inspection and surveillance activities. - Act as a liaison between suppliers, Integrated Product Teams (IPT), Subcontract Management and Engineering personnel to resolve technical or quality issues. - Conduct Quality Management System audits at supplier facilities. - Identify potential new suppliers, assess capabilities and coordinate with program office to execute new contracts
Basic Qualifications - An advanced understanding and practiced understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), engineering requirements, special processes as well as mechanical and electrical inspection and test methods. - Extensive experience performing First Article Inspections to AS9102. - Must be able to identify and document supplier's quality deficiencies and ensure effective corrective action. - Experience with control and disposition of non-conforming material. - Advanced AS9100 and AS9102 interpretation and application experience. - Experience with aircraft assembly, inspections, tests and maintenances methodologies
Desired skills - Experience with source inspection and surveillance activities at suppliers - Strong understanding in AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems - Demonstrated Leadership, Customer Relationship Management skills - ASQ Certification or Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt/Black Belt)
