Lockheed Martin Sr Instrumentation & Controls Engineer in Moorestown, New Jersey

Lockheed Martin is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer for a position in its Bioenergy line of business. The primary job responsibility will be to support proposal, specification, and design coordination of industrial and utility scale renewable energy plants (Biomass-to-Power, Biomass-to-Fuel, and Waste-to-Energy). Candidate will spend majority of time working in a team environment, developing design documents, coordinating and reviewing subcontractor designs, providing inputs to internal customers, supporting meetings, performing analyses, and writing reports. Duties include:
Performing and reviewing engineering design activities including P&IDs, control system architecture diagrams, control system layout drawings, logic diagrams, technical specifications, functional specifications, engineering calculations and documentation
Supporting project proposals, front-end engineering designs, and technical writing
Supporting equipment vendor evaluation, selection and coordination activities
Supporting subcontractor scope of work and construction work package development
Providing support to construction and commissioning activities
May support electrical engineering activities including single line diagram development, load list tabulations, and basic electrical calculations
Some travel is required

Another one of its attributes is its proximity to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which is about a 15-minute ride away. Nearby communities include Mt. Laurel, Cherry Hill, Vincentown, and Burlington. This region is just a beautiful suburban setting with lots of scenic residential towns and all the things that one would expect to include great school systems and lots of great shopping and restaurants. Where can you get to from Moorestown, NJ? Ocean City, NJ is just over an hour to the southeast. Annapolis, MD is just over two hours to the southwest. Washington, DC and the capital region are just three hours away. Virginia Beach, VA is less than six hours from Moorestown. Killington, VT is six hours to the north with some awesome skiing.
Basic Qualifications Bachelor degree from an accredited college in Electrical or Controls Engineering
Must have 5+ years of experience in Electrical or Controls Engineering
Strong technical background
Experience with distributed and process control systems, PLCs and/or SCADA
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships
Candidate must be willing to travel as needed to support program requirements
Desired skills Petroleum or power project experience
Detail oriented and ability to complete tasks independently with minimal supervision
Experience interfacing with mechanical and electrical equipment including turbines, IC engines, HRSGs, flaring systems, material handling equipment, water treatment, heat exchangers, evaporators, pumps, conveyance equipment, blowers, switchgear, motor control centers, UPS systems, metering, etc.
Understanding of 3rd party controls and interfaces
Experience with low and medium voltage electrical systems
Experience with Engineering, Procurement and Construction processes related to project development
Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ANSI, API, IEEE, IEC, ISA, ISO, NEC, NEMA, NFPA, UL
Professional Engineering license
Proficient in AutoCAD and AutoCAD P&ID
International project experience
