Training System Pilot SME Asc Mgr (Flight Instructor Asc Mgr) for the F-35 supporting the USAF at Nellis AFB, NV.
F-35 Operational Site Training Operations Asc Manager – Functional Management and Oversight of Training Operations personnel, to include Pilot SMEs and Simulator Technicians.
• Functional and performance management for the on-site Training System personnel. • IT maintenance of the Training System (TS) resources, responding to trouble calls, updating configuration based on received Modification Kits and perform preventative maintenance. • Oversees shift operations supporting up to 4 Pilot Training Devices 40 hours of operation/week and an additional 4 hours of Preventative Maintenance/day. In addition, provides direct support for Modification Kit Installation and Service Simulator Evaluation events. • Logistic support of the operational site Full Mission Simulators, Shipping and Receiving activities, and incoming material for FMS Spares Equipment. • Oversees the tasking of the training personnel on site. • Oversees facility operations conducting, coordinating, and supporting government maintenance on Facility Systems and responding to site Trouble Calls. Serves as F-35 Pilot SME. Supports military pilots’ flight procedures in maintaining qualification level in the Pilot Training Device by executing approved pilot training syllabi, upgrade, and tactics training. Instructor will provide instruction using the Full Mission Simulator (FMS). The instructor will primarily operate Instructor Operating Station (IOS) and will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting pilot training and tactics development, as well as recommendations for courseware updates. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the Lockheed Martin team at dedicated training sites to fulfill F-35 training and continuation training objectives. The successful candidate will implement and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs and policies, as directed.
Deployment and continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the OJT required at Lockheed Martin’s Luke/Eglin AFB training center prior to assignment.
The applicant selected may be required to work at deployed locations, work rotating shifts, and work in excess of 40 hours per week
Basic Qualifications Candidates must have a Final Transferable Secret security clearance, last Periodic Reinvestigation must be within the last sixyears.
Experience leading a small and growing team in a field operations setting. Demonstrated background with problem/incident management. Demonstrated background with hardware / software change management. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to work unsupervised towards program goals. Strong systems engineering background. Willingness to travel to support mission requirements. Candidate must have a minimum of 1000 hours Fighter Flight Time in fourth and/or fifth generation fighter aircraft. Former Instructor Pilot (IP). Candidate must have prior experience in Military Pilot Academic and Simulator Training. Candidate must have operational experience with advanced sensor systems such as NVS, LANTIRN, Helmet Mounted Cuing, and the latest weapons inventory. Candidate must be familiar with current instructional techniques and delivery methods. Must have in-depth knowledge of military publications and an understanding of fourth and/or fifth generation aircraft systems. Candidate must have worked in an environment which required them to interact with multiple functional areas and personnel of a diverse nature. Use of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) is required. Candidate must have outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent leadership traits, strong oral & written communication abilities, solid ability to organize, and a high desire to provide customer satisfaction.
Candidate must be willing to support flexible work hours to align with customer operational schedule.
Desired skills Demonstrated experience managing, operating, and maintaining F-35 Pilot Training Devices. Prior L-Coded manager experience with Lockheed Martin Experienced hiring manager Experience managing budget, schedule, resources Experience interfacing with customer at military locations Experience with F-35 pilot training curriculum Familiarity with F-35 program requirements F-35 system knowledge F-35 Full Mission Simulator experience Familiarity with the F-35 ALIS program Currently possess F-35 Program special access. A completed SSBI or NACLAC reinvestigation within the last five years.
