This position sets up and operates a variety of automatic or semi-automatic machines used in the production of the company's product. The Assembler Team Lead works from Standard Operating Detail (SOD) or written/verbal instructions given by supervisor to perform production tasks and also checks and inspects operation against predetermined tolerances. Report to Operation Supervisor on work progress to include any conditions surrounding failure to meet quantity and/or quality standards. The ability to provide guidance and leadership is a must.

List of responsibilities:

Assigns work to employees in accordance with schedules, employee skills/certifications, etc.

Instructs employees on proper work methods, use of equipment, safety rules and quality and quantity standards.

Checks work methods and results for conformance to standards and re-instruct as required.

Keeps abreast of all changes to modifications and specifications as related to your area of responsibility.

Investigates and report discrepancies and variables to Production Supervision for corrective action.

Leads cell to achieve quality, delivery, and training metrics. Performs in process inspections.

Understands and follow rules and regulations pertaining to EH&S; contribute to the overall effectiveness of equipment by performing operator-required upkeep; segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.

Basic Qualifications High School diploma or GED equivalent. 3+ year’s SMT experience. Be able to lift 25lbs on a regular basis using proper lifting techniques. Be able to bend, stoop, stand and/or sit for extended periods.

Work with minimal supervision Good communication skills both verbally and written Must be able to communicate information between shift changes Ability to read and interpret instructions from OEM drawings Ability to administer OJT (on the job training) Knowledge and experience with lean and continuous improvement philosophies and methodologies preferred. Good communication skills, both written and oral. Teamwork skills required to establish and sustain a lean culture. Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel) preferred. Must be willing to work 2nd Shift
