Will drive process improvements and the ability to keep pace with our growing material volume while balancing our stockroom space constraints. Lead a team to meet the challenges of an extremely deadline-driven environment. This individual will be someone who is a critical thinker and problem solver, who likes dealing with ambiguity, change, and enjoys getting into the details to drive improvements. Will support our Operations Excellence Teams using a tiered-metrics based approach to drive process improvements throughout the stockroom.
Manage, coach, train and develop the stockroom team to deliver the highest quality service to Manufacturing Operations while maintaining inventory accuracy above 99.0% in all stocking locations. Coordinates and oversees the stockroom’s picking, kitting, cycle counting, location auditing and inventory control policies & procedures to maintain accuracy and assure compliance with audit requirements. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of stockroom support functions, including but not limited to; inventory control, quality assurance, space management, logistics, factory floor expedites, floor returns, and customer service. Reviews, analyzes and develops action plans for reducing production floor kit defects based on data captured and reported by the team. Responsible for training, documentation and implementation of best practices with respect to inventory control. Develops and maintains the strategy to store inventory in a logical manner to help ensure fast and efficient picking operations. Responsible for the day to day scheduling, staffing, work assignments, tools, and materials for the stockroom team.
Basic Qualifications • 10+ years of past warehouse/stockroom experience and a prior management/leadership role in a warehouse environment. • Proven past experience of effectively managing large groups of hourly employees. • Ability to quickly learn and utilize various software systems and data analysis tools • Strong project management and continuous improvement skills with a metrics driven mindset • Excellent conflict resolution skills and a customer focused attitude with the ability to build working relationships with all levels of personnel and management. • Ability to evaluate stockroom inaccuracies, determine root cause, and develop concrete corrective and preventative actions. • Strong analytical, math, data analysis, listening & communication skills. • Willingness to work outside normal business hours, including weekends.
Desired skills • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain/Logistics. • Prior usage of SAP/COS for warehouse management. • Past experience with revamping and optimizing a stockroom’s layout, process, and procedures while continuing to execute day-to-day operations in the stockroom. • LM21 Green Belt, Black Belt or equivalent Lean/Six Sigma training • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
