Lockheed Martin Manufacturing Engineer / Tooling / Orlando, FL in Orlando, Florida

Successful candidate should have some knowledge of LMC (MFC) basic manufacturing processes relative to the design, build and delivery of tactical missiles. Specifically, candidate will design tooling for the build of missile products including ordinance handling. Tooling concepts, tool design, ordering, tracking, final prove in of tooling, and process development and implementation. Candidate may be involved with hands on and trouble-shooting hardware as required, including acting as the liaison between Orlando, Ocala, and Troy Alabama. Travel is required, approximately 1-2 week per month on average.

Basic Qualifications Candidate should have a good understanding and demonstrated application of technical and problem solving skills in the area of manufacturing and production. Examples include, but not limited to, the ability to lay-out (describe) a process flow (sequence of events), and the ability to construct (draw/model) a baseline part or tool used to build or assemble a product. Candidate should also have some hands on experience with building/assembling hardware, and the ability to clearly communicate instructions, verbally and written, providing clear direction for subsequent builds. In addition, candidate should have demonstrated interpersonal skills, i.e. member of a team(s), organizations. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

Candidate must have an active/current Secret Clearance.

Desired skills Lockheed Martin experience with focus on production operations and the design of tooling and handling of ordinance. Working knowledge of LEAN -Six Sigma skills. ProEngineer experience, taking a concept through to final design and fabrication. Experience with manufacturing processes, GD&T, precision machining, assembly sequences, and ability to ID potential test points within the assembly flow. Familiarity with Pro-Model Process Simulator and SAP is a plus. Able to ID and correct process issues and implement cost saving solutions (Affordability). Able to identify and implement process plan changes to preliminary and existing work instructions (MPPs).
