Lockheed Martin Missile Program Chief Engineer / Cross Functional Engineering Lead / Program Technical Lead in Orlando, Florida
Missile Program Chief Engineer is responsible for developing the Customer-preferred technical baseline and offer while maturing the integrated work products (e.g., system specifications, risk management, technical development). The Chief Engineer will implement the Integrated Product Development (IPD) methodology to design-in Customer and stakeholder value (i.e., per the latest IPD Methodology Handbook [EPI 100-08]). They will proactively form Integrated Product Teams (IPT) across Product Support & Integrated Logistics, Mission Planning, Systems Integration and Test, Systems Verification, and All-Up-Round to bring IPD related production and sustainment issues into the front-end of the design process by engaging the Operations Lead and using Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly, and Design for Support capabilities. The Chief Engineer assists the Program Manager in deriving the integrated design targets for the IPT leads, teammates and key subcontractors.
Basic Qualifications Cross-functional IPT or equivalent leadership experience, Risk Management experience, Trade Studies experience
Must have a minimum of an interim secret clearance prior to start
Desired skills Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in a design engineering or physics degree, Systems Engineering training and execution, strategic planning experience, DoD customer interaction experience, subcontractor technical management, Green or Black Belt Training, particularly in Design for Six Sigma (CAIV, QFD, tolerance cards, etc.), Affordability (Design to Cost, cost modeling, etc.) experience
