Lockheed Martin Principle Radar Design and Analysis Engineering Lead / Missile Systems Engineer / Orlando, FL in Orlando, Florida
This individual will lead of a complex sensor subsystem that will be designed, built and tested to a Performance Based Specification by a subcontractor and further integrated into the final system and then tested again at the system level during system-level DVT and flight test operations. Effort includes:- Oversight of sensor design, integration, and test activities at subcontractor's facilities- Coordinating of sensor integration activities with functional, program management, and customer- Coordinating SOW, Performance Based Spec , and ICD updates with supplier and internal disciplines- Coordinating supplier programmatics (i.e. delivery schedule, hardware configurations, risk assessments)- Interfacing effectively with multiple functional groups including: engineering admin, designers, subcontracts, planning, and quality personnel during assembly and inspection process. Coordination of performance trade studies using an integrated flight simulation (IFS)- Coordination internal manpower, milestones, IMS inputs, variance reports, etc. Individual will be responsible for requirements and integration and test activities. Travel is required to support customer coordination and qualification testing efforts.
A Systems Radar Design and Analysis Engineer is responsible for the development of Radio Frequency systems (radar related systems and subsystems) to include design, integration, test, and performance evaluation. This activity includes a requirement to coordinate vendors and other team members in development of either passive or active RF sensor systems for integration test and evaluation. Activities inherent in the design process include support of trade studies, presentations, proposals and related activities.
Basic Qualifications Candidate must have expertise in RF system performance analysis, system definition, requirements analysis, and flow down of systems requirements to testable modular hardware and software. Good hands-on hardware skills are desired. Excellent communication skills are beneficial.
Experience with military Anti-Radiation Homing (ARH) or passive RF electronic surveillance (ES) hardware is of considerable value. Experience in ES/ARH systems engineering, algorithm development, signal processing, simulation and analysis tools (MATLAB) is specifically desired. The capability to develop threat models is especially valuable. Experience with Simulink is desired. Candidates should have a strong fundamental understanding of radar systems and performance modeling.
Must have a secret clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years to be considered for this opportunity.
Desired skills Desired skills include: planning technical development efforts, financial and business management, and personnel management. Experience by the candidate in leading a team to achieve development program goals of cost & schedule, rapid problem resolution in an IPT environment, and establishing technical direction for product capability growth is desired. Working knowledge of dealing with subcontractors and subcontract technical management is a plus.
