Lockheed Martin Systems Engineer Mgr in Orlando, Florida

This position is for the Specialty Engineering IPT Lead to support the Long Range Stand-Off (LRSO) Program. The LRSO Program purpose is to develop the system to replace the Air Launched Cruise Missile which has been operational since 1986. LM Space Systems Company (SSC) is teaming with LM Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) in Orlando. This phase of the program will execute requirements development, architecture, ConOps, design reviews, and avionics design and build with emphasis on high reliability.

This Systems Specialty Engineering Leader is responsible for technical, cost, and schedule performance of the program's specialty engineering activity. This leader will work closely with stakeholders, including relevant leaders among USAF customers, government agencies, LM business areas, and program IPTs to establish, realize, and verify requirements. The Systems Specialty Engineering Leader disciplines include, but are not limited to, Nuclear Hardness & Survivability, Electromagnetic Effects Design & Analysis, Program Protection, Reliability, Configuration Management, and Parts, Materials & Processes Engineering. The Systems & Specialty Engineering team is expected to be sized at 20 individual contributors functionally badged to multiple LM business areas (primarily SSC and MFC). The primary work location will be at MFC's Sand Lake Road facility in Orlando, FL. The Systems Specialty Engineering Leader will be expected to integrate activity at this facility as well as "virtual offices" which will be in operation across multiple SSC sites (as well as other BA sites as required). Relocation is optional. This leader will need to be familiar with strategic systems development and/or sustainment, and execution of activity within classified and/or special-access program constraints.

*Note this Blue Sky Requisition is targeted to be filled by the Need Date to permit processing of program clearance paperwork. The actual work performance is conditional on contract award which is currently planned for September 2017.

Basic Qualifications 1. Either active DoD S, TS or TS/SCI clearance with active Background Investigation within 5 years of need date. 2. BS in Engineering with at least 12 years overall technical experience or MS with at least 10 years overall technical experience. 3. Experience in broad Systems Engineering disciplines including Leading Integrated Teams on complex system design, development, integration and test through a full program lifecycle. 4. Experience and/or understanding of complex Systems and Systems Engineering disciplines of Nuclear Hardness & Survivability, Electromagnetic Effects Design & Analysis, Program Protection, Reliability, Configuration Management, and Parts, Materials & Processes 5. Must have demonstrated leadership skills and behaviors that align with the Full Spectrum Leadership Imperatives. 6. Experience managing subcontractors and teammates 7. Able and willing to travel frequently and lead multiple-site Engineering Team.

Desired skills 1. Strong Reliability Engineering background with experience in flight systems and ability to perform technical work. 2. Can effectively support frequent contacts with internal personnel and outside customers and industry peers at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling of specific phases of projects or contracts. 3. Able to prepare and conduct briefings and participate in technical and programmatic meetings with internal and external high level representatives. 4. Experience planning and formulating programs and organizing project staff according to program needs. 5. Has an understanding of customer agency and mission area. 6. CAM experience 7. Working experience with LMSSC CIPS requirements compliance, Product Development, Technical Management 8. Experience coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessments, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. 9. Experience responding to customer requests for budget and schedule estimates, and proposals. 10. Ability to manage contract scope through the Contract Change Request and Special Task Order process.
