Lockheed Martin Systems Engineer / Orlando, FL in Orlando, Florida
This System Safety Engineering position is for Apache Fire Control (AFC) programs. The primary job duty will be the execution of System Safety Analyses to influence and assess hardware and software design for safety in support of MIL-STD-882 DoD System Safety Program. Additional job duties may include: - Influence/assess design for safety compliance - Develop & interpret System Safety requirements / flow-down requirements - Develop System Safety Program Plan (SSPP) & Hazardous Materials Management Plan (HMMP) - Software safety planning, SW safety hazard assessments, AOP-52 SW Safety Design Criteria compliance assessments. - Support the JS-SSA to achieve Software Safety Certification. - Performing Hazard analyses (System Hazard Analysis (SHA), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Threat Hazard Assessment (THA), bent pin analysis/energy trace, Safety Assessment Reports (SAR), and Subsystem Hazard Analysis (SSHA). - Develop/Assess for MIL-STD-1425 and MIL-HDBK-454 Compliance - Review & influence test procedures for safety - Develop DOD/DOT Hazard Classifications to support weapon shipment - Support of all related reviews to include but not limit to system safety working groups (SSWG), PDR, CDR, and TRRs, program reviews, and safety boards
Basic Qualifications -Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance. -Good written and oral communication skills. -Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office. -Ability to present findings to customers and management. -Strong problem solving skills.
Desired skills - Active Secret security clearance - Laser safety experience - Candidate should be a self-starter capable of performing assigned tasks with little direction. - Ability to make formal presentations to large groups and be able to interact well in a team atmosphere with engineers, subcontractors, program managers and customers. - Effective analytical problem solving skills, the ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy, be able to learn and work with System Safety specific software tools.
