Lockheed Martin Rotary Wing operational Technical Writer /Manuel developer in Owego, New York

Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as Operator Manuals/Pilots Guides, theory development, technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences. Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals. Identify all engineering source data and populate new structure by incorporating approved data. Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Conducts quality review of materials.

Basic Qualifications Technical knowledge of, and experience with, the operation and maintenance of rotary winged aircraft. Knowledge of latest software utilized in technical manual development. Ability to convey complex, technical information effectively and clearly in written form. Must be able to interpret, paraphrase and rewrite engineering source data into a form suitable for the customer. Must be able to read and interpret engineering schematics and be able to analyze data and develop theory procedures. Ability to write with XML and SGML editors, primarily FrameMaker, Arbortext, and Microsoft Tools. Ability to search, retrieve, update and store data to Integrated Digital Environment database repository and sharepoint repositories. Must be able to work in an environment with a Team Leader as supervisor. Taking and following daily direction from functional Team Lead. Ability to obtain and maintain cooperative relationships with peers. Candidate must also possess good interpersonal skills (both for written and oral communications); and be capable of working independently or as part of a team. Must be able to hold up under intense scrutiny by government customer and stay positive, with Can Do Attitude. Ability to organize effectively, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and complete tasks on time without daily supervision.

Must be a fast learner and able to perform independently in a dynamic environment. Experience on generating technical manuals for maintenance actions and operations of Naval Helicopter Programs.
