This engineering position is with our Historic Skunk Works in Palmdale, California. This Flight Controls lead position is a technical position performing complex guidance and control design and analysis for LM Aero - Advanced Development Programs. Responsible for guiding the design, development, integration and test of flight control laws. Must have demonstrated working knowledge of flight control system architecture, autonomous control algorithms & analysis, system integration, and test of vehicle systems. Must have a good understanding of aircraft stability, control and aerodynamic characteristics. Strong system engineering experience and the ability to mechanize the requirements for Guidance, Navigation and Control systems is highly desired. The selected candidate will represent the program as a technical subject matter expert within the field of flight controls and will interact with senior leadership, customer and suppliers at program meetings.

Must be a US Citizen this position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications Minimum 10+ years of hands-on experience in the design of flight control laws (algorithms & software) for aviation applications.

Experienced working with aircraft stability, control and aerodynamics characteristics.

Must be proficient with using Matlab/Simulink software for simulation/control laws.

Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SAP/SAR clearance/access

Bachelor's Degree or Above in a Technical Engineering Discipline

Desired skills • Demonstrated experience in all phases of flight control laws design life cycle - from requirements development, conceptual design, detailed design, code generation, software verification & validation, ground test and flight test phases. Knowledge and experience in Guidance and Control Algorithm design. • Experience and knowledge of existing military and FAA airworthiness and certification requirements and regulations. • Familiarity with flightworthy software development process • Leadership experience • Full Spectrum leader • Masters Degree Or Above in Aeronautical or Electrical Engineering • Excellent communications skills with ability to effectively interact with team members and customers
