Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Program
This engineering position is with our Historic Skunk Works in Palmdale, California. The first assignment for this position is to lead the QueSST program Stability and Control and Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) efforts including day to day coordination between the program teams responsible for these efforts. Responsibilities also include integration and coordination with software design, implementation, and systems integration teams. Tasking also includes reporting to Technical Management and Cost Account Manager responsible for vehicle management (which includes software, guidance and control design and analysis). Must have demonstrated working knowledge of stability and control analysis, flight control system architecture, autonomous control algorithms & analysis, system integration and test. Strong system engineering experience and the ability to mechanize the requirements for Guidance, Navigation and Control systems is highly desired. The selected candidate will participate in addressing GN&C direction with senior leadership and the customer at program meetings. Must be proficient at making presentations to large customer groups and internal community.
Must be a US Citizen, position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications •Must be proficient with 6-degree-of-freedom simulation/control laws development tools, aircraft/system modeling and Matlab/Simulink software.
• Experience in Guidance and Control Algorithm design and implementation.
• Bachelor Degree in an Engineering Discipline
Desired skills •Ability to clearly, concisely, and briefly communicate technical design, requirements, and trade study results to internal, external, and customer team members in formal program reviews and informal integrated product team (IPT) meetings. Must be proficient with both Dynamic Inversion and conventional control law development methods. • Hands-on experience in the design of flight control laws (algorithms & software) for aviation applications.
•Must have a good understanding of aircraft stability, control, and aerodynamics characteristics.
