Lockheed Martin Technical Sales Rep - Energy Efficiency Program (Oregon) in Portland, Oregon

A business development professional with experience in lighting systems and technologies is sought by Lockheed Martin Energy to be part of a growing team dedicated to exceeding the expectations of our utility client. As part of this growing team of professionals you will be responsible for promoting Program services and offerings to multifamily property owners, managers, and key influencers to assist them in improving the energy efficiency of their property. This will include identifying, quantifying, and closing common area lighting improvements for small-to-medium sized multifamily properties. Specific primary job activities will include: • Communicate Program services via email, phone, and in-person meeting and presentations with multifamily property owners, managers, and maintenance staff • Use proprietary evaluation software to record existing conditions and make energy efficiency recommendations at multifamily properties • Present Program recommendations to key stakeholders and decision makers • Collaborate with existing trade ally network to support participant bid acquisition • Work collaboratively across business development team to assist in identifying and closing common area lighting improvements • Actively engage appropriate trade groups and associations to promote Program offerings and services

Job will be split 50/50 working as a lighting specialist in support of Program common area lighting initiative for small multifamily properties and business development (BD) in support of Program efforts to incent property owners and managers to improve the efficiency of their multifamily properties.

As a lighting specialist, candidate will be responsible for working with current BD staff to identify, quantify, and close common area lighting improvements for small multifamily properties that might otherwise go unserved by market. Candidate must use proprietary, Excel-based software to record existing conditions and make recommendations for energy efficient lighting. Must be familiar with basic financial metrics such as ROI and simple payback and be able to discuss project financials with decision makers. Must be able to work with existing lighting trade ally network to identify qualifying lighting products and acquire pricing to match the necessary scope of work. Onsite property visits will be necessary to accurately review existing conditions, which may require walking, standing, and stair climbing at moderate levels.

As a BD, candidate will be responsible for engaging multifamily property owners, managers, and key influencers to promote program offerings, review properties for eligible standard energy efficiency improvements, make recommendations for improvements using proprietary software, and identify custom energy efficiency improvements for evaluation by engineering staff. Candidate must have experience engaging owners and managers in a selling environment and escorting them through the life cycle of a project.

Basic Qualifications • 2+ years of experience working in a lighting distributor/retailer environment • 3-5 years of experience in a B2B sales environment, calling on business owners, managers, and key influencers • Understanding of trade ally contractor network dynamics and experience building relationships and working within a network • Ability to establish and maintain a professional rapport with market stakeholders, customers and trade allies • Track record of sales success, presenting recommendations and managing projects through to completion • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Desired skills • HVAC, Mechanical, Lighting or Energy Efficiency sales experience with a proven track record of success • Ability to multi-task across different job functions while maintaining focus on closing projects • Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex principles into easy-to-understand concepts
