Lockheed Martin Flight Operations Manager in San Luis Obispo, California
This position will lead the Flight and Test Operations organization for Lockheed Martin Unmanned Integrated Systems (LM-UIS). LM-UIS is located in San Luis Obispo, CA.
This mission critical position is responsible for the performance of flight operations for unmanned systems including CONUS and OCONUS deployments. Primary duties of this assignment include: supervision of test run card development, selection and scheduling of subordinates to support flight operations. Ensuring the team can successfully execute customer missions safely and within the UAS flight envelope. Establish, document, and continually improve Ground Operations Procedures (GOPS) and Flight Operations Procedures (FOPS). Oversee aircraft operator, payload operator and maintainer training programs and adherence. Provide support and guidance as appropriate. Manage anomaly resolution activities to insure departures from planned test parameters are understood and resolved. Insure that processes are in place and followed and that required metrics are maintained and published as required by upper management and/or the customer. All of these tasks will regularly need to be initiated and completed as the primary first line supervisor. Be capable of independent decision making.
Responsibilities will also include coordinating and interacting with several disciplines as they relate to flight test such as maintenance, logistics, configuration management, supportability, integration and test, systems engineering, and quality.
This role will measure team effectiveness and efficiency at executing the customer mission and make improvements as necessary to optimize and ensure high performance and professionalism. This role will have a go/no-go decision authority for flight ops and will be looked upon as the LM Subject Matter Expert to the customer for safe and effective system flight operation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing customer interface with the United States DoD and other foreign military organizations.
